Love was in the air for the inaugural Singapore Social series of concerts, held at Gardens by the Bay on Friday to a sold-out audience estimated by organisers at 8,000-strong.
International pop acts Psy, Carly Rae Jepsen and Cee Lo Green – perhaps stirred by the full moon hanging over a balmy night – took turns to shower affection on a diverse crowd ranging from teenyboppers to families with little tykes.

All-Asian girl group Blush attempted to jumpstart the evening in their provocative PVC getups, only to be let down by their thin voices and factory-made dance moves – or perhaps those in attendance were simply saving their energy for the wildly popular Carly Rae Jepsen.
The Grammy-nominated songstress was greeted with raucous, mostly pubescent applause as she took to the stage in black shorts and stockings. “Who’s in love?” she shouted as the crowd lapped up her girl-next-door charm.
