The Social Star Awards is a 24-hour online event recognising international stars in the social media world in areas including music, movies and sports. The top awards are being announced at a ceremony at Marina Bay Sands. Over 60 winners have already been announced from midnight.

The ceremony is being streamed live on YouTube from 9pm, and can also be seen here (video above).

It wouldn’t be rock and roll without booze and women – or so it's been said. And for the legendary rockers of world famous band Aerosmith, who are in the country for the first time, Singapore women are right on top of their list of gorgeous babes they've met around the world.

Lead singer Steven Tyler, 65, described local women as “a great melting pot… there are a lot of different kinds…delicious”. He was cheekily replying to a question a female reporter had asked during a media conference on Wednesday. The veteran rockers are in town to attend and perform at the Social Star Awards.

Held at the foyer of the Mastercard Theatres at Marina Bay Sands, band members Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford and Joey Kramer, were clearly one of the most anticipated acts – the others included pop sensation Carly Rae Jepsen and Korean megastar Psy – to grace the occasion. YouTube sensation Ryan Higa was in town on Tuesday for the YouTube FanFest.

YouTube sensation Ryan Higa has got the looks, the humour and the fame, but the American comedian of Japanese descent reveals that he’s still single.

Well-known for his comedy sketches, Higa was in town on Tuesday for the YouTube FanFest, which opens the Digital and Music Matters (DMM) event in Singapore.

When asked about his ideal type at a press conference before the event, the 22-year-old heartthrob said that he preferred “cute and innocent” over “hot and sexy”.

The celebrity, who has over 8.3 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, also again refuted rumours that he is dating 4Minute singer Hyuna, who is best known as being PSY’s love interest in the music video of worldwide hit “Gangnam Style”.

Higa and Hyuna recently appeared in a YouTube commercial for Toyota Corolla, causing rumours of Higa being “smitten” with the K-pop star to spread like wildfire.

Yup, you read that right - Korean superstar Psy wants to move on and ditch the shadow of his crazily popular mega dance anthem Gangnam Style.

"Let me be honest. I'm not going to do Gangnam Style forever. I can't beat that song. That song was literally a miracle and miracles never happen twice," said the slick-haired, straight-talking singer at a press conference to present some of the stars who are attending the inaugural Social Star Awards. Other artistes include legendary American rock-and-rollers Aerosmith, Canadian pop star Carly Rae Jepsen and Cee Lo Green.

"I'm going to just get rid of Gangnam Style and leave it as it is, and I've got to move on. I can't live with Gangnam Style forever."

They might not be K-pop stars, but the screams that video bloggers Eatyourkimchi got when they arrived at Changi Airport on Monday reflected a Hallyu star’s typical reception.

Though not ethnically Korean, the duo, Simon and Martina Stawski (a Canadian couple who lives in Korea), has become a trusted guide on all things South Korean. They have more than 300,000 subscribers and over 90 million views on their YouTube channel as of May 2013. They even have a studio in Seoul where they make videos about K-pop, Korean food and adventures. Also, their fans even have their own name – the Nastys.

The Stawskis came to Singapore on Tuesday to attend the YouTube FanFest, a showcase featuring established and breakout global sensations. Before the event, they had a meet-and-greet session with the media in which they spilled the beans about having a K-pop artiste as a former student and secrets K-pop stars share with them. It's hard to believe but sexy Jessica Alba hates working out.
