Medical miracle or just pure coincidence?

When Leila Neve, 31, crawled into the bed of her comatose daughter to give her a final hug to say goodbye, little did she expect that a simple song would end up saving her life.

But that's exactly what happened when she started singing "Rolling in the Deep" by British singer Adele, which just so happened to be playing on the radio at that exact time.

And suddenly, despite being in a week-long coma, her seven-year-old daughter Charlotte responded with a smile.

"Charlotte started smiling and I couldn't believe it. It was the first time she had reacted to anything since the haemorrhage. The nurses were astounded and told me to keep singing, and she smiled again," Leila told The Daily Mail.

Revealing that the song was one they used to sing together, Leile added, "They said it was like I 'unlocked her' and from that day she started getting better and better."

Within two days, Charlotte began speaking and could even get up from her bed.

    The case,

Joining them in creating military mayhem will be Singapore's most talented comedians Dennis Chew, Chua Enlai and Norleena Salim.

And the person charged with turning these boys -- and girls -- into men (and women) will be director Beatrice Chia.

Songwriter-producer Don Richmond, Chia's real-life brother-in-law, will also refresh the much-loved play with his original compositions.

At the production's press conference on Thursday, Chiang said audience can expect to see fresh jokes and materials in the new Army Daze, because, well, the army has undergone several changes since the 57-year-old enlisted for national service in the 1970s.

One of Singapore's leading lights in the arts and theatre community has gone out.

Emma Yong, better known as one-third of musical cabaret group Dim Sum Dollies, died from stomach cancer late on Wednesday night at the age of 36.

Yong had suffered a relapse of stomach cancer late last year and had to pull out of Dream Academy's annual year-end show Crazy Christmas.

She had earlier been diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach cancer in January 2011. It was reported that tumours were found all over her spine, womb, pelvis and kidney.

While she responded to the first course of chemotherapy and beat the cancer into remission, it relapsed last September and she soon had to resume aggressive chemotherapy sessions.

Yong is survived by her husband Jerry Lim, whom she married last year.

Fellow theatre actress Neo Swee Lin broke news of her death on Twitter at 12.26am on Thursday morning when she tweeted, "RIP darling Emma. Angels bear you aloft. Our performing family has lost one of our greatest

"I'm a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world, life in plastic, it's fantastic" line sung by Norwegian group Aqua could easily apply to 21-year-old Ukrainian model Valeria Lukyanova.

She appears to have doll-like facial features, long blonde hair, a tiny waist and huge breasts that are disproportionate to her figure. In most of her photos, she puts on a vacant stare and her skin looks flawless with a waxy finish.

On her blog, the "real-life Barbie" claims to be the most famous woman on Russian websites, and is interested in new age music and "astroplaning".

The model gained popularity online over the past week as her photos generated much discussion online. Many people questioned whether she is indeed a real person who has gone under the knife or someone whose images have been edited through Photoshop.

As of Friday evening, she had 161,350 followers on her VK, the European equivalent of Facebook. A video spoof of her has also been produced by Taiwan's New Media Animation (NMAtv) and uploaded

  • Daniel Wu reunites with Louis Koo for rom-com

Daniel Wu and Louis Koo meet again. (Photo courtesy of SPRG)Daniel Wu and Louis Koo meet again. (Photo courtesy of SPRG)

Hong Kong actors Daniel Wu and Louis Koo seem to have some bromance going on.

The dashing stars have teamed up again for their seventh movie together in upcoming film "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" (單身男女), but Wu may not be at that point yet where he's ready to say "not again!" when hearing he'll be working with Koo.

"Louis and I worked together many times (but) many of the films that we were involved in together are mostly action movies," Wu pointed out, adding that the new film is a romantic comedy so it was refreshing to take part in it.

"I enjoyed it a lot (and it was) a good change," he said.

"Don't Go Breaking My Heart", directed by Johnnie To, tells the story of two eligible bachelors. Kevin (played by Daniel Wu) is an architect who is down on his luck but whose devotion is unwavering, while Sean (played by Louis Koo) plays a successful, charismatic fund manager who knows exactly what to say and what to give to get into a woman's heart.

Both of them are vying for the

  • Movie review: Twilight's 'Breaking Dawn Part 1'

Breaking Dawn Part 1: Dying to see what Bella’s wedding dress looks like? The filmmakers knew you would be. That’s why they took extraordinary precautions to lock down the set so that no photos of the wedding would leak. They had a helicopter scanning the area from above and off-duty police officers guarding the perimeter. Poor Kristen Stewart had to stay locked in a room all day to keep anyone from sneaking a peek.

    (WARNING: SPOILER ALERT)

Just face it, Twilight haters, the entire Twilight franchise is critique-proof. No matter how much vitriol critics pour on it, the latest installment will end up doing better than the last one .

In case you've been hiding under a rock, the story revolves around a human teenager, Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart, who falls deeply in love with vampire Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson.

The Twilight Saga -- Breaking Dawn, Part 1, directed by Bill Condon and the fourth part of the franchise, made S$369.2 million (US$283.5 million) in just three days since its opening in the U.S.

I was invited to watch an early preview of the film and brought my boyfriend along to see how the movie would go over with non-fans like him.

Here's what you can expect from the penultimate instalment in the five-part saga.

    Mediocre acting

Taylor Lautner's role as Jacob Black was fleshed out badly in this series chapter. Besides showing up shirtless for only a couple of
