Overwhelming turnout at fashion warehouse sale

It may have been only the first day but customers made a mad dash to The Face Shop Building at Kallang Bahru for the Rockstar by Soon Lee inaugural warehouse sale on Friday.

The opening day of the three-day sale saw a queue of hundreds of people stretching from the entrance to the entire length of the road outside the building.

According to "Rockstar by Soon Lee's" Facebook page, the response on Friday was so "overwhelming" that they had to close early for the day at Kallang Bahru for safety reasons.

Customers have been advised to come back on Saturday and Sunday.

Adele Ang, a 22-year-old student at Nanyang Technological University, who plans to go for the sale on Sunday, told Yahoo! Singapore, "I'm a huge fan of Rockstar and who wouldn't love a sale?"

She also added that she is looking out for brands like Pointer, Keep, Timberland and Dr Denim at the warehouse sale.

Other brands also include Reebok, Lacoste, Converse and even local fashion labels like Woon Hung jewellery.

The local independent retailer, which also has an outlet at Orchard Cineleisure, decided to throw its first and biggest-ever warehouse sale to celebrate Singapore's 47th birthday and decided to give customers a National Day treat.

The sale lasts until Sunday with prices on unique, trendy labels slashed by more 50 per cent.
