Songs like "ABC" and "I'll Be There" are both classic hits, remembered and passed down through generations.
They are also the hallmarks of one iconic group -- The Jackson 5.
Now remodelled as The Jacksons, the Motown group of the world-famous Jackson brothers, which from their childhood formerly included the late King of Pop Michael Jackson, is going on tour for the first time in almost 30 years, and Singapore has been earmarked for one of its stops.
Starting in the U.S., the Jacksons' Unity Tour 2012 will go through Europe, Japan and Southeast Asia, playing their hits from all the eras of their career, including some from Jermaine Jackson's solo career.
The pop-funk and soul band of singers consisting of Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Tito Jackson first ascended to fame with Michael in the 1970s, being the first group ever to have their first four singles top the Billboard charts. "I'll Be There", in particular, remains the best selling single in Motown history.
The Jacksons were also the youngest group ever to be inducted to the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, and have performed for the Queen of England three times, as well as for presidents, dignitaries and various Heads of State around the world.
In Singapore, the group will be performing on 15 December at the Indoor Stadium, with ticket sales opening on 9 October at SISTIC. Ticket prices range from $88 to $288. Please visit the Sistic website for more details.
