Singapore's beloved "twin durians", also known as the Esplanade, celebrates it's 10th birthday this coming weekend with a star-studded line up of nostalgic productions and performances through it's "Dedicated To You" festival.
From 11-14th October, the Esplanade is paying tribute to Singapore's art scene over the years, commissioning a series of new productions to thank both those who have dedicated their lives to the arts here and also the audiences who have journeyed with them over the past decade.
The productions ran the gamut from music, dance, theatre, and visual arts, with something for everyone, and Yahoo! Singapore susses out what's available for who.
Cultural Medallion winner Ong's first mainstream musical production after 15 years, the NBC takes the stage in a Talentime competition format, some time in the near future.
The fictional "company" has just been established and is searching for an Artistic Director. Enter the who's who of Singapore's theatre industry - from hairdressers and entertainment icons to deputy public prosecutors, all competing for a chance for the position.
Find out more about the NBC in our story here as Yahoo! Singapore asks up-and-coming young talents Benjamin Kheng, Tabitha Nauser, and Erwin Shah Ismail what it's like to step into the shoes of Dick Lee, Jacintha Abisheganaden, and Najip Ali.
The four homegrown stars will be taking to the stage to perform a series of classic xinyao songs as well as television drama theme songs and Mandopop hits from the 80s and 90s penned by local songwriters.
A tribute to local artistes for their contribution to the Singapore Chinese pop music scene as the Esplanade celebrates it's 10th Anniversary, the performance will include music by home-grown composers like Cultural Medallion recipient Liang Wen Fu as well as Lee Wei Song, Lee Si Song, Eric Ng, and Billy Koh, among others.
Which xinyao classics will the four stars be performing come the weekend? Find out in our story here
In between shows, be sure to check out The Durian Awards, a tongue-in-cheek spoof awards ceremony directed by Jeremiah Choy and hosted by Najip Ali.
Expected wacky Golden Durian "awards" like "Best Beng", "Bao Ga Liao" (Everything Included), "Best Boyband", and "Biggest Lungs" to be handed out to the likes of Kumar, Irene Ang, and Patricia Mok.
"There will be musical performances by (Dim Sum Dolly) Selena Tan, T'ang Quartet, and our very own PSY, Andrew Lua," said director Choy.
"We wanted a coherent, yet fun way to link the performers and performances, hence this tongue in cheek concept .. it's meant for the family and anyone is welcome!"
