Watch out radio heads, Power 98FM is undergoing a major revamp and they want to take you on an aural adventure with them!
Featuring a brand new modernised logo and tagline "Hear the difference", the exciting change-up also includes a slew of new programmes, which will feature more lifestyle-centric content and contest segments that are poised to provide listeners with a brand-new level of entertainment.
Speaking to Yahoo! Singapore, Yeo was a picture of vigor and zest and enthused her return to the airwaves. "It feels great, I'm really excited about it. It feels like I've never left and I can't wait to begin!"
Since her departure from the radio scene in 2006, Yeo has gone on to be the face of television shows such as "Nokia Football Crazy" and "Football Extra" as well as being a mum to a baby girl with husband Thorston Nolte.
When asked on what sets the revamped Power 98FM from other stations, the 35-year-old said: "We'd like to think that it'd be fun, but not inane. Irreverent, but not unintelligent. We of course strive to be a cut above the rest… [and] we are just here to add another option to the listening choice."
A cut above the rest indeed, as the new Power 98FM is making a beeline for listeners' hearts with a brand new website and mobile app, free online streaming as well as a monthly on-air contest called "Around the world with power" where one lucky listener will get a chance to fly around the world to rub shoulders with pop stars such as Coldplay and Rihanna.
"Power 98FM believes in being different and thinking different, and aims to be an agent of change and innovation in the radio industry in Singapore," explained Shareen Wong, programming consultant at Power 98FM.
DJ Mister Young -- who will also be taking on the role of Assistant Programme Director -- echoed Wong as he said that the revamped station is set to light up the airwaves with "a whole new format change, [along with] a great mix of veterans and young talent".
Amongst the list of veterans is Hubert Tang, who has an impressive 16 years of radio experience. Making his return to the airwaves after a five-year hiatus, Tang described this experience as "déjà vu" and paralleled it to riding a bicycle -- which is frankly, an experience that one can never really forget.
Tang is set to be the thorn among the roses as he hosts "The Power Breakfast Show" on weekday mornings from 6am to 10am together with Yeo and Sonja Steinmetz while Mister Young will be helming "The Drive" on weekdays from 5pm to 8pm together with Charmaine Phua.
Excited for the all-new Power 98FM yet? You'd better be because as Mister Young puts it -- "When we get together and go on air, magic happens".
Tune your radio to the all-new Power 98FM on 19 March 2012.
