Always wanted to talk to that girl or guy at the bar, but never had the courage to do so?

Harry's, which operates almost 30 bars in Singapore, has rolled out a new interactive app that allows people to do just that with anyone at its bars — anonymously.

Customers just have to download the Harry's Bottle Message app, scan the Quick Response (QR) code that they will receive with every purchase of beer at the bar and write a message.

Users then place the tag onto another bottle of beer and ask the bar staff to send it to the intended person. The recipient then scans the code to read the message and both parties can then chat using the app.

According to Digital News Asia, the Bottle Message campaign was first launched in mid-August at Harry's Esplanade outlet. The same media reported that the campaign's success, which saw almost twice as many beer bottles sold, has spurred the chain of bars to extend this app promotion to its other Singapore outlets.
