It's another feather in her cap.
"Noose" star Michelle Chong's feature film "Already Famous" is in the race for an Academy Award -- also known as the Oscars -- under the Foreign Film Category.
A record 71 countries have submitted films for consideration for the movie industry's highest honour.
Shot with a million dollar budget, Chong takes on the role of producer, writer (she worked on the script for several years), director and lead actress for the 2011 movie, in which she plays a small-town Malaysian trying to make it as a TV star in Singapore.
She reportedly disposed of some assets, including a condominium property, to finance the film.
She told Yahoo! Singapore in an interview last year that the film project was a labour of love right from the start.
Chong, 35, is one of Singapore's best-loved comedians, who also stars in her multiple personas in local comedy news series "The Noose".
However, "Already Famous" is facing some serious competition.
All submissions will be screened by the Academy's foreign language film selection committee, who will shorten the list to the final five nominees on Jan 15th.

Meanwhile, Singapore has also gotten the nod in three categories in The 2012 International Emmy Awards.
"The Kitchen Musical" garnered two nominations: one for Drama Series and another for Best Performance By An Actor for the role played by Arthur Acuna.
"The Challenger Muaythai" was nominated for the Non-scripted Entertainment award
