A-Jax to Promote in Both Korea and Japan in First Year

DSP Media’s new boy group A-Jax showed its determination to continue the global success of its predecessor SS501, as the group is debuting in Japan soon after its debut in Korea.

A-Jax announced on May 1 that it would promote in both Korea and Japan in its first year. After a set of Korean promotions in May, the group will officially venture to the Japanese market with Universal Music (Sigma), a major Japanese album label, in August. Universal Music currently houses its labelmates Kara and Rainbow.

A-Jax signed a contract in Japan with similar terms usually given to other existing popular Korean boy groups, garnering interest among Japanese music officials as a rookie that may soon be sweeping the nation.

The date of the announcement, May 1, is meant to mean that A-Jax wishes to be a group that is loved in Korea, Japan and across Asia like its senior SS501, which was housed by its agency.

A-Jax started its first series of televised promotions on April 24 with the reality show Making the Star- DSP Boys on MBC Music, and is aiming to debut in Korea late May.
