28 Sep – It was revealed that director Kim Ji-woon's Lee Byung-hun starring, "A Bittersweet Life" will finally be having its very own Hollywood treatment.
As reported on Cinema Blend website, the Hollywood version of the same name will be directed by the co-director of "The Book of Eli", Alan Hughes, and the screenplay will be written by Anthony Peckham of "Invictus" fame.
However, no information has been given about the cast and filming schedule despite rumours that go way back in 2009 stating that Denzel Washington would be playing Lee's role.
The original movie revolves around a mobster cum hotel manager, Sun-woo (Lee Byung-hun) who is given the task of escorting his boss' young mistress around in order to determine whether she was cheating on him – for which he was permitted to kill her if she was. However, Sun-woo ends up falling for her beauty and is unable to kill her despite finding out that she has indeed been cheating on the mob boss.
