Cavalli and Zoe miss fashion honour

Roberto Cavalli and Rachel Zoe have not made it onto a list of fashion’s most influential people.

Last week, TIME magazine announced voting was open for their annual TIME 100 poll – which lists the most influential people in the world.

Following that the American publication has unveiled a number of top 100 lists in various disciplines. Among them is a fashion version, which includes the designers, models, photographers, editors, stylists and muses who are deemed to be the most influential.

Several major names are not featured, with Huffington Post pointing out that big names such as Roberto, Rachel, Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger and Tyra Banks should have got a look in.

The list isn’t ranked, with the magazine instead choosing to detail who it believes are the biggest names in the business.

Among the designers, Azzedine Alaïa, Giorgio Armani, Pierre Cardin, Jean Paul Gaultier, Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford are all included.

Footwear stars Manolo Blahnik and Christian Louboutin are also listed, as is Alexander McQueen and Karl Lagerfeld.

Surprisingly, shamed designer John Galliano gets a mention too. He was sacked from his eponymous label and his role at Christian Dior last year after he made racist remarks during an argument at a bar.

For the models, Gisele Bündchen, Kate Moss, Twiggy, Heidi Klum and Naomi Campbell feature.

Anna Wintour, Patricia Field and Carine Roitfeld make it onto the editors and stylists section, while the muses list is far-reaching. Stars from David Bowie and Michel Jackson appear alongside Lady Gaga, Audrey Hepburn and US First Lady Michelle Obama.

For photographers, Nick Knight, Helmut Newton and Mario Testino are all praised.
