Charlie Sheen is looking forward to “just being a dad” this summer.

Charlie has two young daughters with actress Denise Richards, twin sons with Brooke Mueller and a 27-year-old daughter with his former high school sweetheart.

Now that his new show Anger Management has wrapped filming, Charlie is preparing to relax.

“[This summer I’ll] hang out at soccer games, t-ball games and barbecue… just be a dad, you know,” Charlie told Extra. “I haven't been able to do that for a long time.”

Charlie’s Hollywood colleague Mel Gibson is currently feuding with screenwriter Joe Eszterhas, who provided audiotape where Mel is heard going on a vitriolic tirade.

Charlie believes that his version of anger management therapy may be of benefit to Mel.

“The session would start with 6 or 8 shots of McCallan's whiskey,” he joked.

Charlie, who was embroiled in his own public meltdown in recent years involving narcotics, won’t condemn Mel for the tape.

“I don't know it's hard to comment on something you don't really know all the details when we weren't really there,” he explained. “I'm not defending Mr Gibson, I'm merely saying it's not always at face value, what we hear as a consuming public, you know.”
