sippakorn / FreeDigitalPhotos.netThe nude look popped up on numerous occasions on the Spring/Summer 2012 runways, whether it was eyes, lips or the full nude face, the radiance it gave the overall look was a winner in anyone’s books. The refreshing look is something that many try to recreate, but often just miss the mark. The trick is to look fresh faced and natural with the impression you’re wearing scarcely any makeup. Follow these simple steps to achieve the ‘less is definitely more’ look.

#1 Start by prepping your face and ensure that you moisturise (preferably with added SPF) your skin daily to ensure it stays hydrated. It will keep it protected and your skin texture fresh.

#2 Avoid foundations which literally smother the face and instead opt for a tinted moisturiser to give the ‘barely there’ effect. Mineral powders will help to set this whilst giving a subtle finish.
#3 A dusting of blush to the apples of your cheeks will give you a healthy radiance and add a touch of natural glow. Quick tip: peach hues will flatter most skin tones.

#4 Go for soft shades, light browns, coppers or gold to lightly define the eye lids, or even the smallest dap of lip-balm to give them a dewy look.
#5 No look would be complete without the obligatory coat of mascara. Sweep the brush from the inner lashes out, rather than from bottom to top. It creates a more dainty look and opens the eyes.

#6 Complete your look with a dab of gloss in a nude tone or a colourless lip-balm which will help to bring out the natural colour of your lips and you’re good to go.
