A three-minute trailer for Ridley Scott's Prometheus was released this past weekend internationally, where there are no constraints to limit trailers to 2:30 minutes like US cinema exhibitors.
With new footage from the film revealed, including glimpses of aliens, the storyline of this highly anticipated sci-fi film is clearer.
From the interpretation of the 'star map' as an invitation, the enticement to meet the aliens is seen as a danger as they invade the ship that Charlize Theron's character runs.
The dynamic between characters is shown and the need to destroy the aliens before they destroy earth is essential.
Prometheus also stars Noomi Rapace (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) Michael Fassbender (Shame) and Idris Elba (Thor).
Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner) returns to the sci-fi horror genre he created, creating a story about explorers who learn about the origins of mankind in one of the darkest places in the universe.
Prometheus hit theaters May 30 - June 2 in Russia, Scandinavia, the UK and other markets, followed by Australia, Hong Kong, Argentina, North America and others June 7-8.
