It might be the most glam way to travel, but flying is a test for any beauty regime.
But if you’re jetting off somewhere nice this summer, don’t panic. There are plenty of ways to ensure you arrive at your destination in style.
Cover Media caught up with celebrity make-up artist Jackie Tyson, who has travelled the globe with a whole host of A-Listers, to discover her top tips for keeping cabin cool.
“Air travel can wreak havoc with your complexion,” says Jackie. “The atmosphere and pressure in the cabin is very drying which can hasten fine lines so it’s important to be prepared.
“Remember that any creams and fluids you take in the aircraft must be under 100ml or the security teams will snaffle them!”
Here are Jackie’s top tips for in-flight glamour.
Cleanse
As the plane takes off I am reaching for the cleansing wipes to prepare my skin for some nourishment. I like Elemis Fresh Skin Cleaning Wipes, which contain essential oils. Avoid wipes with a high alcohol content as they are very drying.
Moisturise
Next I like to use an intensive moisturising product. I love Black Rose Cream mask by Sisley which is transparent, not opaque, and you can load it up on your skin without looking completely potty on the flight. Tissue it off after 20 minutes.
Banish bags
For extra protection around the eye Shiseido Benefiance Pure Retinol Instant Treatment Eye Masks are fantastic. Just pop them under your eyes for 15 minutes for an extra boost.
Lovely lips
Keep your lips in tip top shape with The Lip Balm from Crème de la Mer. This balm actually stays in place and really feels nourishing.
Refresh
Finally a moisturising spritz makes you feel fresh and perky before reapplying a little make up for your arrival. Neal's Yard Remedies White Tea Facial Mist comes in a handy tiny spray and you can apply as often as you like throughout the flight to keep the skin hydrated.
