Upcoming SBS TV Wed-Thu drama ‘The Master’s Sun’ will make its debut on August 7th, and the production team has recently released a new set of photos featuring Gong Hyo Jin who plays the roles of Tae Kong Sil who has the ability to see ghosts after an incident and is unable to adapt to her new ability.
Tae Kong Sil actually has a nickname of ‘Sun’ since she was little, and is exceptionally bubbly and energetic. But after an unfortunate accident, Kong Sil is unable to adjust to her new life, as she is able to see ghosts, and appears to others as an eccentric woman. To escape the harsh reality, Kong Sil shuts herself up from the world and lives alone.
In the photos that were released by the production team, Gong Hyo Jin is seen taking up a variety of jobs including being a taxi driver, mall janitor, and a cleaner lady at the shopping mall to keep herself distracted from the presence of ghosts.
To perfectly reprise her role as Kong Sil who suffers from insomnia because of her supernatural ability, the make-up team drew 5cm of black circles on Gong Hyo Jin’s eye area, and also chose plain and ordinary outfits for her. This however only helped in adding to Gong Hyo Jin’s adorable charms.
The production company, Bon Factory, said, “To perfectly reprise her role as Kong Sil whose life is turned upside down because of her ability to see ghosts, Gong Hyo Jin takes on a variety of jobs. Gong Hyo Jin will vividly show viewers the process whereby Kong Sil’s personality changes from bubbly to sinister because of her supernatural ability to see ghosts. We hope that everyone will look forward to seeing this drama.”
‘The Master’s Sun’ is a romance horror comedy revolving around a corporate executive who relates everything to money, and a woman who loves to cry and develops an ability to see ghosts. The drama is directed by Jin Hyeok (‘City Hunter’), with the script penned by the Hong Sisters (Hong Jung Eun, Hong Mi Ran) who previously wrote for the drama, ‘The Greatest Love’.
