Gordon Liu 40 percent recovered

10 Oct – After the shocking news of his stroke and partial paralysis last year and the following rumours regarding his second wife allegedly chasing his wealth, the world seems to be a brighter shade of colour for actor Gordon Liu who reportedly have recovered some of his mobility.

Groove Asia website reported that according to his manager, Eva, "Liu is slowly recovering. He received physical therapy, acupuncture and massage therapy every week and has recovered 40% of his mobility."

Eva also stated that although the monthly medical expense is over USD 30,000, Gordon Liu – who stressed that he has no financial problem whatsoever, decided to pay all the expenses himself.

Eva also told the media that although he declined to see his wife and children, Liu has friends constantly coming over to visit. During the Mid Autumn Festival, celebrities and non-celebrity friends like Ti Lung, Chan Koon Tai, Fan Yik Man, Wai Ka Hung and Lam Wai came to visit him at the nursing home.

In August 2011, while performing with his band in To Kwa Wan, it was reported that Gordon suffered a stroke and hit his head. The stroke resulted in a partial right-sided paralysis and a speech impairment and the actor was forced to halt his career and began his therapy.

However, the media reported that his estranged family from his second marriage allegedly had begun pressuring him for money, causing Liu to isolate himself in a nursing home.

On June 2012, Gordon decided to divorce his second wife and continue with his therapy.
