[Interview] Is There A Celeb Ailee Wants to Date?

Ailee first appeared in front of the public on the MBC Chuseok special Singer and Trainee with Wheesung, and immediately took over the stage with her cute looks and explosive vocals.

In February, she finally came out with her own song, Heaven, and refused to come down from the tops of online music charts.



She then became one of the biggest contenders for the 2012 rookie award by showcasing more of her versatile skills through KBS2’s Immortal Song 2. For Ailee, who is known to answer questions in a weird manner, enews prepared an OX interview.

I think I’m pretty?

X. I’m not confident in my looks at all. The moment I feel the most confident is when I’m singing onstage. The girl groups who are active right now are so beautiful that I’m just an ugly duckling.

It’s easier to sing other singers’ songs more than mine thanks to Immortal Song 2?

X. No. I feel more comfortable singing my own songs. When you sing a song that already has an original version, many people don’t seem to like any versions that trail far from the original. Actually, when I sing Heaven I sometimes change the adlibs a bit.

I think I’ll get the rookie award?

X. So many great singers came out [this year]. Better people may be on their way before the end of the year, also. I have a jinx; I never get something I look forward to getting. It’s always been that way since I was little. That’s why I’m not really going to look forward to getting the rookie award.



My dance skills don’t fall behind any girl group member?

The last one, X. I just go with the music. I still feel awkward dancing. I think, though, that the ballet and jazz dance lessons I took when I was little are being a big help now.

There is a male celebrity I thought I would like to go out with?

X to that too. None, none at all. Why? Because I’ve barely spoken to them! The ones who appeared in [KBS2’s] Dream High 2 with me? They’re just close friends. I like people who I can really talk to. I want to be in a relationship too, but whenever I find someone I never get any further than a crush. Is there anyone out there?
