25 Apr – It was revealed that actor Jang Geun-suk's name has been used by a movie production company to scam money from their investors.
As reported on Allkpop website, police have revealed that the CEO of a movie production company has swindled over USD 131,500 of investments from people, promising a DVD project featuring three celebrities including Korean drama prince, Jang Geun-suk that will be sold in Japan.
Police revealed that the person involved, 31-year-old Park was indicted. They revealed, "From June through August of last year, Park stole USD 131,500 USD from investor A by promising to produce a DVD starring Jang Geun-suk. 30% of the profit made from its export to Japan was promised to investors."
They added, "Park falsely claimed that Jang Geun-suk had signed a contract to film the DVD for a fee of USD 87,600. However, the money invested was used to pay other bills for his company as well as for the production of an entirely different DVD."
