Jodie Foster to direct "Money Monster"

15 Oct – Two-time Oscar winning actress Jodie Foster is set to further her career as a director as she is confirmed to helm the camera behind film financing and sales company, IM Global's latest production "Money Monster", according to ComingSoon.

"Money Monster" is a financial business drama that follows Lee Gates, a successful television personality who holds insider trading tips making him a money guru in the world of Wall Street. However soon enough, his bad advice causes a man to lose all his family money and Gates finds his life threatened when the latter holds him as a hostage on air. Gates' position brings up radio ratings through a live broadcast of the event and grabs hold of the public's attention to find out how much his life is really worth.

The project will be produced by 2010 Oscar nominee "Up In The Air" producer Daniel Dubieki. Jim Kouf and Alan DiFore, the creators of TV series "Grimm" will pen the script.

The casting for the indie drama will begin immediately right after production commences in early 2013.

As an actress, Foster, 49, is best known for her incomparable performances in "The Accused" and "The Silence Of The Lambs", which won her the Best Actress title at the Academy Awards in 1989 and 1992 respectively.

Next year, fans will also get to see Foster playing Secretary Rhodes in Neil Blomkamp's sci-fi thriller "Elysium", alongside Matt Damon.
