K-pop stars to be robotised

29 Jun – K-Pop fans all over the world can now have their idol stars at home, a robotic one at that!

Koreaboo website reported that Dongbu Robot announced that they will collaborate with IR Robot and Ocean Bridge ENT to release robotic versions of K-pop stars by the end of 2012.

Utilising high performance motors and with a total of twenty joints, the robot figures will be made to closely resemble the members of K-pop groups such as SNSD and Super Junior.

A rep stated, "The robots will also be engineered to perform K-pop dances, with technology similar to that of the humanoid robot, "Hovis Eco," that we have released in April."

Dongbu Robot is also planning to release an application whereby customers can download songs and dance moves. They stated, "K-pop fans all over the world can then enjoy the songs and dance moves downloaded by an application. I believe that will broaden K-pop's fan base."
