LeAnn Rimes’ cyber bullying lawsuit will “put her in a very bad light”, says a leading publicity strategist.

The singer brought a legal case this week against high school teacher and mother-of-four Kimberly Smiley claiming she was victimised on Twitter. LeAnn also listed Kimberly’s teenage daughter as a defendant.

LeAnn says that Kimberly recorded a phone call in which the star was extremely profane, calling the woman a “b***h”.

President and CEO of Centurion Strategies Michael Bilello, a firm that handles high-profile crisis management, thinks LeAnn made a bad move.

"The whole nature of this puts LeAnn in a very bad light especially considering who she is going against," Michael told Radar Online.

"Filing the lawsuit against this alleged tape of her bullying the teacher is not going to play well for her image.

“You have to assume as a celebrity that everything you say can and will be used against you. If you enjoy the celebrity that allows you to achieve the career that you desire, then you have to mind what you say – you cannot explode on people especially on the phone or over e-mail and Twitter because it will come back to haunt you.”
