Lenora Crichlow has joked there was "no cheating" involved when it came to preparing her body for her new movie.

The British actress stars as Shania, a streetwise runner, in the Olympic themed film Fast Girls. Lenora had an arduous training schedule ahead of the big screen role.

"It was so hard! We were training five times a week, doing a mix of running, sprinting, circuits and weights, both in the gym and on the track, as well as over 600 sit-ups a day," she explained to British magazine more!

"We were also on a strict diet, which involved five or six high-protein meals a day. We had protein shakes, fish, chicken - and no cheating! The first few sessions were hard but then I started to feel fitter, which obviously made it a little easier."

Lenora understands the pressure on Hollywood stars to look a certain way. The star says she felt strain to look slim for her role.

"Yes, but it's more important to look healthy," she insisted.

"I'd go to the gym, hit the treadmill and then run to the mirror and go, 'It didn't work!' If you're only doing it for the end result, it's just frustrating."
