29 Aug - A popular Chinese entertainment show has cancelled the appearance of Hong Kong actor Louis Fan after he was embroiled in several infidelity rumours, putting into question the future of his career, according to Jayne Stars.
Fan was due to appear in Hunan TV's popular programme "Happy Camp" together with the cast of "The Bride with White Hair" to record an episode on 27 August, but the producers decided to take him off the show due to him being rumoured to be with several women, other than his current girlfriend Chinese celebrity JJ Jia.
According to tabloids, among the woman that Fan was rumoured to be in a relationship was his female assistant; an allegation that he has denied. Fan was also reportedly to have another girlfriend in China and had even bought a house for her.
Fan responded to this allegation saying: ""It's true. Before I met JJ, I had a girlfriend in the mainland. When I purchased the property I wanted to mortgage it, so I registered it under my girlfriend's name. When we broke up she refused to transfer the name back to mines – I did not buy the house to pursue her like what those tabloids are claiming!"
Despite his explanations, the producers of 'Happy Camp' still removed Fan from the show to avoid bad publicity.
Since Fan had publicly announced that he was in a relationship with Jia, tabloids had been hitting hard against it, calling Jia to be a 'homewrecker' since Fan was a father of two children. In response, Fan issued a statement that he only went after Jia after he had separated from the mother of his children, while Jia also stated that she knew about Fan's background but accepted him regardless, by saying that she supported and trusts him.
