Mariko Goto to make solo debut

26 May – Former Midori vocalist Mariko Goto would be making her solo debut with an album titled "299792458", to be released on 25 July.

According to Tokyo Hive, "299792458" is read as "Goto Mariko" in Japanese, and was recorded in December last year. The nine-track album, which will include "Atashi no Shoudou" and "U-chan", has been described to be a cute pop album that will highlight Goto's vocal talents.

Goto is expected to be holding several lives from June to July, and she will be appearing in a rock musical in August as well.

Midori was a four-member punk rock band that was formed in 2003 in Osaka, Japan featuring Mariko on vocals, Yoshitaka on drums, Keigo Iwami on bass, and Hajime on keyboard. They disbanded in 2010, with their last show titled "Sayonara, Goto-san".
