Michelle Pfeiffer isn't "thrilled" about being in her fifties, as she hates that the age "stigmatises" women.
The 54-year-old actress is famed for her timeless beauty and ever-elegant style. Michelle admits that turning 50 a few years ago wasn’t as bad as she thought it would be.
"I am not particularly thrilled to be in my fifties, the fact that it tends to be an age that stigmatises women. Turning 50 took some getting used to, but being 50 and the way I've been able to lead my life is not anywhere as bad as the idea of being 50!" she laughed in an interview with the UK edition of OK! magazine.
Michelle's confidence has grown as she's matured. The Hollywood star is grateful that becoming older has made her feel more secure in her own skin.
"You don't feel the pressure of having to look perfect or to conform to a certain image you might have of yourself," she said.
"I feel I'm able to play characters I would have been scared to play when I was younger. Now I'm able to force myself to leave my safety net and that has been incredibly therapeutic. I'm realising just now how much fun I can have."© Cover Media
