Milla Jovovich credits her husband's inventiveness for such a "great" Resident Evil franchise.
The Hollywood actress is reprising her role as Alice in the fifth instalment of sci-fi franchise Resident Evil: Retribution.
The successful film series is written and directed by her husband Paul W.S. Anderson, and Milla thinks it owes its appeal to Paul's ever-imaginative ideas.
"You can't have a franchise go to five movies if you're just regurgitating old information. Why would anybody want to see number five if it's just going to look like number four?" she mused in an interview with readingeagle.com.
"I feel like Paul really did a great job with every film, giving every film its own world, its own feeling, its own look and its own scope."
Milla is proud of the movies. The star thinks audiences are constantly surprised by what direction the subject matter takes.
"I think you can watch them number one, number two, number three, number four and number five. You can watch number three and then number five, and then go back to number one," she explained.
"Resident Evil was a claustrophobic horror movie and Retribution is a really big event movie. I think that's important, because it keeps people's interest up for it. They want to see what you're going to do next."
