Moon Geun Young and Lee Sang Yoon couple photos from upcoming MBC TV Mon-Tue drama ‘Jung-Yi, The Goddess of Fire’ were recently revealed ahead of the drama’s debut in less than a month.
Moon Geun Young is cast as the first ceramist ever in the Joseon Dynasty named Yoo Jung, while Lee Sang Yoon plays Crown Prince Gwanghae. In the photos, both of them are seen wearing palace clothes, and left one anticipating their respective roles as Yoo Jung and Gwanghae. Moon Geun Young and Lee Sang Yoon used their gaze and poses to reprise their roles, and their shoulder-to-shoulder poses and gentle smiles left viewers smiling along with them.
The new drama marks a return to the period drama genre for Moon Geun Young 5 years after ‘Painter of the Wind’. She said, “Jung Yi didn’t harbour dreams of becoming the top ceramist in Joseon. It’s just that she has a keen interest in ceramic and has the innate talent for it. Jung Yi will mature before your eyes with her talent and hard work, and live bravely as a ceramist. The love story is also something that viewers can look forward to.” Lee Sang Yoon added, “I want to portray a humane side of Gwanghaegun who wants to love but is unable to do so.”
'Jung-Yi, The Goddess of Fire’ is led by Moon Geun Young, Lee Sang Yoon, Kim Bum, Jung Kwang Ryul, Han Go Eun, and many others, with ceramics as the focal point in the 16th century of the Joseon Dynasty. The drama depicts the live and love of Yoo Jung, who becomes the first woman who ever made ceramic in the Joseon Dynasty.
The drama will succeed ‘Gu Family Book’ and begin airing from July 1st.
