PSY places 11th on American Billboard chart with ‘Gangnam Style’

The American Billboard chart revealed its top 100 songs for the week on September 20th, and what caught the eye was Korean singer PSY who clocked in at the 11th spot with ‘Gangnam Style’.

The website for American Billboard wrote, “After entering the charts last week, K-POP hot icon PSY continues to rise up the charts for the second week running. ‘Gangnam Style’ debuted on the Billboard chart at No.64 last week, and in just a week, it has managed to jump several positions to end up at No.11 for this week. PSY is definitely on course to break the record, by being the first-ever Korean singer to place in the top 10 of the American Billboard chart.

In addition, PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ has also managed to top the American iTunes singles chart for 6 consecutive days from September 15 - 20th. His chart successes can be attributed to his high exposure rate and aggressive promotions in America lately, after he accepted invitations and went on numerous talk shows and radio shows in America.

Meanwhile, PSY will begin promotions in Europe from November 11th. PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ music video was recently nominated at the upcoming MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMA) for the best music video award. He will be competing against the likes of Katy Perry (Wide Awake), Lady Gaga (Marry the Night), Rihanna (We Found Love), and M.I.A. (Bad Girls).
