3 Oct – Despite their initial sparks, their recent awkwardness during a press conference may be a sign that the anticipated relationship between actors Raymond Lam and Karena Ng is not true after all.
Popular Asians website reported that during a press conference for the Hong Kong comedy, "Love is... Pyjamas" that was held on 29 September in Guangzhou's Tianyu Plaza, the 32-year-old actor was seen sitting far away from the 18-year-old Ng and both stars were acting like strangers to each other. The discomfort caused the movie's director, Vincent Kuk to answer most questions for them.
When asked about Karena Ng's performance in the film, Lam shook his head, but expressed, "We had very little screen time together. Our characters do not really interact with each other in the film. However, when I watched the film's final cut, I can see that she is a very hardworking and talented actress", to which Karena smiled awkwardly and nodded her head respectfully.
The situation became more awkward when Raymond revealed that he portrays a very talented photographer in the film. The reporters then asked Karena when Raymond looked the most 'chok' (attempting to look handsome), to which Karena joked, "He likes to pose when he's sleeping", causing the actor to turned red.
When reporters turned to Lam and asked if he likes taking self-portrait, Vincent Kuk then jumped in to help and joked, "The camera he held in the film was very big ! They would be very bad self-portraits."
The 32-year-old Raymond Lam and 18-year-old Karena Ng were caught on a dinner date earlier in July, triggering rumours of the two possibly dating.
Although they denied it, both stars did not rule out the possibility of a relationship despite their 14-year-age gap.
However, with their recent discomfited appearance in Guangzhou, dating may not seem very likely for the pair.
