29 Sep – It was revealed that actors Raymond Lam and Michelle Ye will be reunited in a new Mainland drama, "The Purple Hairpin Romance".
Asian Crunch website reported that the two have already confirmed to play the lead roles in the new costume drama adaptation of "The Purple Hairpin". It will also be Michelle Ye's third production that she will star in, like her previous works in "Ninth Widow" and "Goddess Athena".
With the collaboration from the same crews that brought "Goddess Athena", "The Purple Hairpin Romance" is set in the Tang dynasty, revolving around singer-dancer, Fok Siu Yuk (Michelle Ye), the man dressed in yellow, Wong Sam Hak (Raymond Lam) and the scholar, Lee Yik (TBA).
This will also be Lam and Ye's first collaboration outside of TVB after 10 years. Previously, they collaborated in TVB's "Lofty Water Verdant Bow" and "Eternal Happiness". Michelle Ye also reportedly wrote to Raymond Lam on her Weibo, saying, "Welcome to Beijing. Long time no see."
The filming of "The Purple Hairpin Romance" will begin in October.
