15 Sep – 21 months after her horrific on-set fire, S.H.E.'s Selina Jen boarded her first flight to return to Taiwan via Ishigaki together with other HIM International Music stars including Dylan Kuo, Power Station and group member, Ella.
Asian Crunch website reported that initially, her label was more anxious than Selina herself, worried that the singer would feel discomforted with the plane's air compression systems.
However, her band-mate Ella made a plan to calm Selina down by making an in-flight announcement, saying, "There is a very special female passenger with us today by the name of Selina. Let us all applaud her for her bravery," and was received with applause from passengers and air service crews.
The 30-year-old singer, tearful with the encouragement, shared, "I feel a bit sad because the last time I boarded a plane was to receive treatment for the accident."
Despite her comeback in July 2012, Selina Jen has been having a very rough 19 months of her life after the singer was involved in a fire accident that occurred during an indoor film shooting for a musical film, "I Have a Date with Spring" in October 2011. Selina suffered third degree burns on 54% of her body and only left the hospital in January of 2012. The singer is still unable to go under the sun as her wounds have not fully healed and spent her time indoors and only able to go to the beach after sunset.
Meanwhile, S.H.E. celebrated their 11th anniversary on 11 September.
