4 May – SNSD's Seo-hyun is now officially the Goodwill Ambassador for the 2012 United Nations Pavilion Expo.
According to Koreaboo website, on 3 May, a representative from the event commented, "Seo-hyun understands the purpose of the UN Pavilion, and she is determined to share the importance of the marine environment to the world. Consequently, she has accepted the role of Goodwill Ambassador."
Kpopstarz reported that her appointment ceremony has been held last March, attended by the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon.
The young singer stated, "I have always wanted to be like my role model, Ban Ki-moon, for whom I have the greatest respect. It was even more meaningful to be able to receive the appointment certificate directly from him."
The Secretary General also enthused that they hope that the organisation will be able to spread awareness for the conservation and sustainability of marine environments to both students and the public visiting the UN Pavilion with the appointment of Seo-hyun as the Goodwill Ambassador.
The 2012 UN Pavilion Expo will be held in Yeosu starting from 12 May.
Meanwhile, Seo-hyun will be making a stage debut as a member of the SNSD sub-unit Taetiso with their single, "Twinkle" later this week.
