Shah Rukh Khan fined for smoking

29 May – Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan's days of rattling at cricket stadiums may not be over, after he was recently fined for smoking in public at a stadium in Jaipur.

According to Masala, Khan was slapped with a minor fine by the Jaipur court for smoking at the Swai Man Singh stadium on 8 April, during a match between Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders and the Rajasthan Royals.

The Rajasthan police lodged a complaint against Khan and the summons was send to Khan a few days ago. Khan, who was represented by his lawyer at court, pleaded guilty to the charge and said that he has agreed to pay the fine to resolve the matter. The case had been adjourned to 21 June for further hearings.

Previously, Khan was facing the possibility of being banned from entering a stadium in Mumbai, after being accused of starting a tiff between him and security personnel of the opposing team, while he was there to attend a match between the Knight Riders and the Mumbai Indians on 16 May.
