26 Oct – "No one can replace me," declared the Malaysian-born MediaCorp actor Shaun Chen in a recent interview with TODAYonline when asked about his ex-wife, Michelle Chia, who is also an actress in Singapore.
Believing that he had given his all in their two-year marriage, Chen feels that there won't be another person out there for his ex who would be better than he is.
The 34-year-old actor broke his silence for the first time regarding the mystery shrouding his highly-publicised divorced. The decision seems to have stemmed from Chia, prodding Chen to enquire if there was a third-party involved in their relationship.
"The answer was 'no' and I choose to believe her," he said.
Announcing their divorce in April last year, Chen has since been focusing on expanding his career while nursing a broken heart. Currently, he is planning to go regional by first bagging a role in a 13-episode Taiwanese idol drama which sees him play a man who turns to the dark side.
Despite the split, Chen remains on good terms with his ex-wife, who is fully supportive of his decision to carve a name for himself overseas.
