New Korean blockbuster disaster film “The Berlin File”, which stars Jun Ji Hyun, Ha Jong Woo, Han Suk Kyu, Ryu Seum Bum among others, will be officially showing in North American theatres on the 15th February in a total of 21 cinemas nationwide.
The action packed disaster film has attracted over 5 million movie goers to cinemas across Korea to watch it in just a matter of 2 weeks and now, American audiences will be able to enjoy this sensational work by an acclaimed director in major cities such as Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, New York, Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and 21 other areas and cities in North America.
Before its release in theatres, “The Berlin File” already held two successful screening premieres in Los Angeles’s CGV Theatre and New York Manhattan’s AMC Empire Cinema. The press and journalists who attended these two premieres were impressed by the film, saying that, “Compared to “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy”, “The Berlin File” is a lot more interesting and exciting”; another guest at the premiere said satisfactorily that he has “finally found a movie with great taste”. Others complimented “The Berlin File” for its traditional outlook, “It is interesting and meaningful. ‘The Berlin File’ takes a traditional view on the disaster film but imports some great new action elements into the genre’ and that ‘”The Berlin File” is like an upgrade of the 60’s European secret agent film’ and many more other praises. Even for its release in theatres in Korea, there was a great hype of the film, with a large number of movie goers successfully campaigning it to be released in theatres earlier than intended. The faced paced and suspenseful action film “The Berlin File” was so popular with audiences that it mobilized over 5 million people to see it in cinemas in just 2 weeks since its release at the end of January.
