By 2 Feb – The airing of TVB series, "Wish And Switch" finale sparked protests from audiences on screening a death scene during the Lunar New Year epoch, according to Jayne Stars.
It was explained by producer Lam Chi Wah that during the period of filming, the episode was screened during the New Year unknowingly. "After that fact was known, we already made editing adjustments to dilute the death scene. The scene where Myolie Wu was stabbed was not explicitly shown on screen. In addition, the death scene was broadcasted 7 days after Lunar New Year's day; hopefully the audience understands that the scene was necessary for the plot. If everyone truly feels uncomfortable, then I apologize!" stated the producer.
Netizens were outraged upon watching the finale, seeing Johnson Li pressing heavily on the 33-year-old actress' chest in the scene where the actor was supposedly attempting to revive Myolie's life.
In apparent justification, the actress had inserted a layer of hard plastic underneath her clothing. "It was Myolie who offered that it was okay for Johnson Li to place his hands on her chest. She was very professional. It was not on purpose," explained Lam while praising Myolie for her professionalism.
To produce a realistic effect, Myolie encouraged Johnson to act without reservations. Myolie said, "He told me that he did not feel comfortable, but I told him to press down on my chest. It would be odd if we used camera angle tricks for the scene; it would look unreal".
