12 May – Singer and former Roo'ra member Go Young-wook who is currently being investigated by the police for sexual assault, has finally admitted to having sexual relations with the victim.
Omonatheydidnt reported that on 9 May, a representative of the Seoul Yongsan Police Department revealed, "The victim has no intention of settling and wants to see him receive punishment."
The representative continued saying that as the victim is a minor, if the accusation is proven, Go Young-wook will receive punishment even if a settlement is reached.
The police also revealed that the singer has been suspected of having had sexual relations with the victim twice previously, back in March and April.
The representative stated, "Go Young-wook told the victim that he would make her into a celebrity. Even though she told him her age, he still did what he did. She said that she felt frustrated and used now."
Meanwhile, the Yongsan Police Station has issued an arrest warrant for Go Young-wook for the violation of child and youth protection laws.
They added, "Go Young-wook has already admitted to having sexual relations with the victim. If the sexual assault accusations turn out to be true, he will not be able to avoid the due punishment."
To recap, the 18 year-old female made a report earlier to the police that she was sexually assaulted by the former Roo'ra member. It was alleged that after seeing the girl on a television program, the 37 year-old singer called the head producer of the programme and obtained her contact information to get close to her.
