Who will be the next top upcoming Asian Fashion Designer?

The Asia-wide fashion design competition, Audi Star Creation 2012, drew a record number of 255 entries from around the region this year. The entries were judged based on creativity, originality and commercial viability, leaving us with the top 12 finalists who made the cut. The final face-off will be held at the Tent@Orchard from May 14 to 20. The three winners will each get $10,000 cash prize and the opportunity to intern at the leading fashion retailer FJ Benjamin for a year. Vincent Wong, 21, Malaysia
His collection, Confession of Sins, aims to portray the cleanliness and purity of a human soul through the use of the colour white. He also wanted to capture the revered status of elephants and peacocks through his interesting use of patterned lace and feathers. Wong first heard about Audi Star Creation two years ago, when fellow Malaysian Daniel Ngoo took one of the three top spots and the Audi Young Designer Award.

Wong first heard about Audi Star Creation two years ago, when fellow Malaysian Daniel Ngoo took one of the three top spots and the Audi Young Designer Award. Still, he waited until he had begun his formal fashion education before taking his chances. The Raffles Design Institute student from Kuala Lumpur, who enjoyed drawing dresses and jewellery as a child, will graduate in April 2012 with an Advanced Diploma in Fashion Design.
