Bold blue eyeliner added a gorgeous dash of drama at the Michael Kors Spring/Summer 13 runway show.

Rather than applying a sweep of azure to the lash line, the bold hue was instead featured across the centre of the models’ eyelids for a ‘floating’ effect.

Kors wasn’t the only designer to adorn his models with cool blue tones. In fact, thanks to the likes of Chanel and Stella McCartney, aqua eye make-up is making a comeback.

And if you fancy trialling the trend, celebrity make-up artist Adam Burrell says a blue eyeliner is the way to go.

“A coloured liner is a really easy and subtle way to wear and introduce colour to your make-up, whether during the day or for an evening,” says Adam.

“YSL do an amazing blue mascara which is another great way to add colour for a fresh and fun summer look.”

Here are Adam’s picks of the best blue liners on the market.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on eye pencil in Electric

Amazingly pigmented and velvety-soft, this pencil stays soft and creamy for blending, then dries down to a long-lasting finish that won’t budge. Line eyes with a hint of colour or go for the full artistic, multi-hued effect.

Makeup For Ever Aqua Liner in Diamond Turquoise Blue

Brilliantly long-wearing and rich in polymers, this professional liner is both water and smudge-proof. The diamond turquoise hue is perfect for creating a runway-inspired floating eyeliner look.

MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in Hi-Def Cyan

A creamy, soft-point pencil ideal for creating bold, well-defined, pigment-rich lines. Go for Cyan if you want to pull off a fashion-forward look.
