Bradley Cooper has joked he's going to sport dreadlocks in real life after growing accustomed to them while shooting his new film.

The Hollywood hunk stars in Hit and Run alongside Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard. Bradley plays Alex Dimitri in the action film, and his character sports an unkempt hairstyle.

Bradley insists he'd opt for dreadlocks in his day-to-day life, but just doesn't have the time.

"It was hot, we shot it over the summer. I don't remember it being itchy, but wearing a wig is hot," he told ET Online before adding: "In my life? Why not, sure. Well, there would be no time to do the dreadlocks."

Real-life couple Dax and Kristen star as lovers in the movie. Dax - who also wrote the screenplay – has gushed about his movie star fiancée.

"I had been hanging this role over her head for five long years," he joked. "Right when we were first together, maybe three or four months in we did a movie together and I got to see how professional and hardworking Kristen is on a set.

"This is who you dream about having in your cast when you are a director. She is such a hard worker, never complains, very fast."
