10 Aug – TVB actress Charmaine Sheh is planning to join Now TV, once her contract with TVB expires.

According to Jayne Stars, Sheh had revealed to Face Magazine that she plans to join the new television station because it has good ties with China's Hunan TV that will allow me to make headway into the Chinese market.

"We are still negotiating with Charmaine. Due to our relationship with Hunan TV, our dramas will have guaranteed broadcasts in several of China's most important cities. Our dramas will also air in Hong Kong, but we are not competing with TVB. We are on different levels, and our focus is on the mainland market," said Now TV executive Ho Lai Chuen regarding the possibility of her coming on board.

Sheh is still tied with TVB until her contract expires in a year and she would not be the only TVB employee to make the jump. Former TVB producers Lau Kar Ho and Miu Siu Ching are already preparing to produce drama series for Now TV, and it is rumoured that Steven Ma might be joining the party as well.
