"CZ12" & "The Last Tycoon" to compete

12 Dec – Wong Kar-wai may have made the right decision to delay the release of "The Grandmasters" from December to January 2013, after it was revealed that there will be a slew of big budget films this holiday season.

Popular Asians revealed that after the less-than-impressive takings of Feng Xiaogang's "Back To 1942" and Lu Chuan's "The Last Supper", Christmas season will be filled with highly-anticipated movies such as Jackie Chan's "CZ12" and Chow Yun-fat's "The Last Tycoon".

"CZ12", which was earlier reported to be Jackie Chan's last action movie, will open in theatres beginning 12 December and stars Kwon Sang-woo, Liao Fan, Yao Xingtong and Laura Weissbecker.

Meanwhile, the Andrew Lau-produced "The Last Tycoon" has already been playing in cinemas worldwide since 6 December. The movie boasts a star-studded cast, including Chow Yun-fat, Huang Xiaoming, Sammo Hung, Francis Ng and Yuan Quan.

In addition to the two action flicks, December includes other movies such as "The Guillotines" (Huang Xiaoming, Ethan Juan and Shawn Yue), "My Sassy Husband" (Charlene Choi and Ekin Cheng), Mainland movie "Lost In Thailand", Korean horror movie "Deranged" (Kim Myung-min and Moon Jung-hee), horror flick, "Bleeding Mountain" (Stephy Tang and Rong Ng) and Taiwanese romantic comedy, "Runaway Women".
