David Koechner enjoyed "Piranha 3DD"

8 June – "Piranha 3DD" star David Koechner has been making America laugh from movies since the '90s and this year, the comedian ventures into the waters of yet another comedy, albeit with much more horror and gore, by playing the selfish and money-minded waterpark owner in the sequel of the flesh-eating fishes flick.

"This was something that I had not done before. I know that I did "Final Destination 5" last year – what actor does not want to die on film – and this is a little bit in the same vein but it is also different because it has got more humor to it. I am always looking for a new challenge," said Koechner.

Famous for his portrayal of obnoxious characters in his previous films, Koechner explained that he found his way to play Chet, the owner of a waterpark called "Big Wet" in the story, by analyzing human beings' inner demons.

"I think a guy like Chet; he's very greedy, he's selfish, he's a bit lascivious and I would say every human being has those demons inside of them. So the challenge is to provide bring those kind of situations from your life into your character. Are you buying it? 'Cause we all know somebody who's a horrible person," explained the Missouri-born actor.

"Piranha 3DD" is directed by John Gulager and stars Danielle Panabaker ("Sky High"), Matt Bush ("High School"), David Koechner ("Anchorman") and Chris Zylka ("Shark Night 3D") as the leads.

"Piranha 3DD" is now showing in cinemas!
