Britain’s Duchess of Cambridge is becoming more “playful and confident” in her style choices, a stylist friend has revealed.

Since becoming a member of the royal family last April, Catherine has been finding her fashion feet in a selection of gorgeous outfits put together from both high street and designer pieces.

Britain's Prince William’s wife still doesn’t have an official stylist, but as she is gaining more confidence in her choices a transition to a more glamorous look has been noted by fashion experts.

"High-level glamour is becoming more of the norm for Kate due to her role," stylist and friend of the Duchess Nikki Pennie told US publication People. "She is becoming more playful, putting her hair in gorgeous up dos to complement certain dresses.

" She is clearly enjoying the process and becoming more confident."

Catherine has also been commended for doing her own make-up and not relying on designer freebies to stock up her wardrobe.

The 30-year-old doesn’t accept free gifts from fashion houses and chooses all outfits by herself.

"She is becoming more and more confident, which I think is exciting to see," couturier to the Queen Stewart Parvin said. "The way she does her hair, the way she does her makeup is getting better and better and she has this new inner glow."
