With so many new restaurants opening in Singapore every day, how can a restaurant stand out from the rest? What kind of idea can win you over?
The teriyaki mushroom that makes you go MAD
Tung Lok Group along with Singapore’s iconic entertainer, singer and composer, Dick Lee, and Bar Stories decided to let it all hang in their newest restaurant. They named it MAD, for Modern Asian Diner. Their novel multi-dimensional dining concept combines different eateries of East and West and pairs it with music and a gallery of art pieces by local artists.
What can you expect?
“MAD is a bakery, café and dim sum place in the day, and then a restaurant and cocktail bar at night. It has something for everyone and will never stop reinventing itself, whether in terms of food, beverages, style and ambience,” said Mr. Dick Lee.

With a capacity for about 180 diners, MAD features a bar with mixologist from Bar Stories, charcoal-powered Josper Oven for meats and seafood, 14-seaters Omakase-style tapas counter, a wine cellar and tasting room by Top Wines, plus a bakery and bread boutique by Bakerzin. And depending on the need, these different sections can be combined, switched or further divided. Also, on top of everything, there will also be the good old school dim sum trolleys.
MAD is located at The Grandstand (formerly Turf City), 01-20/21, 200 Turf Club Road. Business Hours: 10am- 10pm on weekdays, 9am- 10.30pm on weekends. For more information call 64663303.
