16 May – Actor-dancer Shahid Kapoor will be gracing over 800 million fans with his presence in the 13th IIFA Awards, which will be held in Singapore next month from 7 to 9 June.

Shahid is not the only known Bollywood star that will be attending the event. Director Dibakar Banerjee, actors Kalki, Emraan Hashmi and Abhay Deol have all been confirmed as well.

There is also the possibility that superstars Anil Kapoor and Bipasha Basu will also make their appearance, after having met with media and key stakeholders at the Fairmont Singapore and Swissotel, The Stamford earlier in April.

The 3-day schedule is as follows:
7 June: IIFA World Premiere: Lido Cinemas, Shaw Theatre
8 June: IIFA Rocks
9 June: IIFA Awards, Singapore Indoor Stadium

Abbreviated as IIFA, the International Indian Film Academy awards event is created as a platform to celebrate the Indian film industry. The prestigious event has been held in China, Europe, the Middle East, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Canada over the last 12 years.

Over the years, the guest stars were Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty, Colin Firth, Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan (2007), Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachan (2009), Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha (2010), Shahrukh Khan (2011), to name a few.

IIFA is presented by Videocon Industries and Wizcraft International Entertainment and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board.
