Zhang Ziyi and Liu Ye honoured with Chevalier medals

1 Jul – It was reported that Chinese actors Liu Ye and Zhang Ziyi were recently awarded with the Chevalier medals of the French Order of Arts and Letters by the French government.

CRI website reported that on 27 June, the two stars attended the ceremony that was held at the French Embassy in Beijing.

The appreciative Ziyi expressed, "I am happy to be honoured with this. My success is owed much to good luck."

The Order of Arts and Letters is a top honour given out by France's Ministry of Culture to recognise the outstanding contributions of those skilled in the fields of arts and literature.

The newly Chevalier-honoured Zhang Ziyi and Liu Ye will be joining the ranks of director Wong Kar Wai, who received the Commandeur medal, and "Blind Detective" director, Johnnie To who was honoured with an Officier medal.
